This Privacy Policy applies to the Sift mobile app available at app.getsift.ai, the Sift API, and the website Getsift.ai (together, “Sift”). Sift is owned, provided, and operated by Niftory Inc., DBA Sift AI, a Delaware corporation (“we,” “our,” and “us”). We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information when you use our products or services, or otherwise interact with us. This policy also helps you understand how you can update, manage, and delete your information. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not access or use Sift or interact with any other aspect of our business.

  1. What Information We Collect

We collect information about you when you provide it to us, when you use Sift, and when other sources provide it to us, as further described below.
Information You Provide to Us
Account and Profile Information
: When you create a Sift account, register for a trial, or otherwise use Sift, you provide us with your name, username, your organization’s name and slug URL, email, and profile picture. We may give you the option to provide additional profile information such as an address or phone number. We keep track of your preferences when you select settings within Sift.
Information you provide through our support channels: When you contact our customer support, you will be asked to provide contact information, a summary of the problem you are experiencing, and any other documentation, screenshots or information that would be helpful in resolving the issue.
Information We Collect Automatically When You Use Sift
Device and connection information
: When you access or use Sift, we collect information about your computer, phone, tablet, or other devices you use to access Sift, which may include your connection type and settings when you install, access, update, or use Sift, the type of mobile device, unique device identifiers, your operating system, browser type, IP address, or URLs of referring/exit page.
Usage Information: We collect information about your usage and activity on Sift, which may include the content of Sift that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, views and interactions with content and ads, frequency of your interactions on Sift, and other diagnostic data.
Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies: We and our third-party partners, such as our advertising and analytics partners, use cookies and other tracking technologies (e.g., web beacons, device identifiers and pixels) to provide certain functionality and features, to recognize you across different services and devices, and to enhance your experience using Sift by measuring and analyzing how you use Sift. The technologies we use may include:

  • Cookies or Browser Cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on your device. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some parts of our service on Sift. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, we may use cookies.

  • Web Beacons. Certain sections of our service and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit us, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics, for example, recording the popularity of a certain section and verifying system and server integrity).

Cookies can be "Persistent" or "Session" cookies. Persistent cookies remain on your personal computer or mobile device when you go offline, while Session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your web browser. Some of these third-party vendors may use non-cookie technologies that may not be impacted by browser settings that block cookies. Your browser may not permit you to block such technologies. You can use the following third-party tools to decline the collection and use of information for the purpose of serving you interest-based advertising:

Information We Receive from Other Sources
Other services you link to your account
: We receive information about you when you integrate third-party apps or link a third-party service with Sift. For example, if you create an account or log into Sift using your Google credentials, we receive your name and email address as permitted by your Google profile settings in order to authenticate you. You may also integrate Sift with other services you use, such as to allow you to access, store, disclose and edit certain content from a third-party through our Services. You may also authorize Sift to connect with a third-party reporting service so your organization can review how Sift are being used. The information we receive when you link or integrate Sift with a third-party service depends on the settings, permissions and privacy policy controlled by that third-party service. You should always check the privacy settings and notices in these third-party services to understand what data may be disclosed to us or shared with Sift.
Third-party providers of information and publicly available sources: We may receive information about our customers’ users from our customers and their authorized representatives, pursuant to agreements we have in place with our customers, and from  third party and publicly available sources (including social media platforms and online communities, e.g., Reddit, Discord, Zendesk, Slack). The information may include physical mail addresses, job titles, email addresses, phone numbers, intent data (or user behavior data), IP addresses, social media profiles, and comments, reviews, and complaints about certain products or services, for the purposes of providing analytical services for our clients, gaining better insights of market trend and customer preference, and delivering personalized communications and targeted advertising.

  1. Why We Collect Your Information

  • Provide our services: We use your information to deliver our services, like conducting sentiment analysis of customers, categorizing the requests and reviews of customers, determining the expressed intent of customers and reviewers, and extracting the sources of customers and reviewers.

  • To manage your account: We also use your information to manage your registration as a user of Sift. The personal information you provide can give you access to different functionalities of Sift that are available to you as a registered user.

  • Maintain and improve our services: We use your information to ensure our services are working as intended, such as tracking outages and addressing issues reported by you. Continuous monitoring of our systems allows us to promptly identify and resolve problems with specific features by reviewing activity information collected prior to the issue's occurrence. We also use your information to improve our services. This involves understanding and analyzing market trends and preferences among our Sift customers, ultimately improving the functionality and appearance of Sift. For instance, by using cookies to analyze user interactions with Sift, we gain insights that aid in the development of superior products. This analysis may reveal inefficiencies in completing tasks or difficulties in certain steps, leading to the redesign of features and overall product improvement.

  • Develop new services: We use the information we collect in existing services to help us create new features and functionality.

  • Provide personalized services: We use the information we collect to customize our services for you, including remembering your information so that you will not have to log-in again the next time you visit the Services if you haven’t signed out.

  • Measure performance: We use data for analytics and measurement to understand how our services are used. For example, we analyze data about your visits to our sites to do things like optimize product design, monitor, and analyze the operation and effectiveness of the services and related activities, and monitor aggregate site usage metrics such as total number of visitors and pages viewed.

  • Communicate with you about the services: We use information we collect, like your email address, to interact with you directly regarding updates or informative communications related to your purchase and subscription of Sift, the functionalities, products or contracted services, security updates, when necessary or reasonable for their implementation. For example, we may send you a notification if we detect suspicious activity on your account, or we may let you know about upcoming changes or improvements to our services.

  • Customer support: We use your information to resolve technical issues you encounter, to respond to your requests for assistance, to analyze crash information, and to repair and improve the services. Where you give us express permission to do so, we may disclose information to a third-party expert for the purpose of responding to support-related requests. If you contact us, we'll keep a record of your request to help solve any issues you might be facing.

  • To market and promote our services: We use your contact information and information about how you use Sift to send promotional communications that may be of specific interest to you, including by email and by displaying ads.  We may also communicate with you about new services, special offers, promotions, and contests. You can control whether you receive these communications as described below regarding opt-out of communications.

  • For safety and security: We use information to help improve the safety and reliability of our services. This includes detecting, preventing, and responding to fraud, abuse, security risks, and technical issues that could harm Sift, our users, or the public. When we detect spam, malware, illegal content, and other forms of abuse on our systems in violation of our policies, we may disable your account or take other appropriate action. In certain circumstances, we may also report the violation to appropriate authorities.

  1. How We Share Your Information

We are committed to maintaining your trust. We want you to understand when and with whom we may share your information for business purposes.
Service Providers, Business Partners, and Our Affiliates
We share your information with our service providers, business partners, and our affiliates to help us process the data and perform business operations, based on our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures. For example, we use service providers and business partners to conduct research, maintain database, operate Sift features, process payment and transaction fulfillment, send communications, provide advertising and marketing services, perform analytics, measurement, data storage, hosting and recovery, and data processing. The service providers, business partners, and our affiliates are bound by this Privacy Policy and other contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them. Affiliates include our parent company and any other subsidiaries, joint venture partners or other companies that we control or that are under common control with us.
For Legal Reasons
Where required by law or where we believe it is necessary to protect our legal rights, interests, and the interests of others, we use information about you in connection with legal claims, compliance, and regulatory. We may also disclose your information, including information about your interaction with Sift, (a) to respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal process, law enforcement requests, legal claims, or government inquiries, (b) to protect and defend the rights, interests, safety, and security of Sift, its users, or the public, and (c) to enforce any terms applicable to Sift.
Business Transfer
We reserve the right to disclose and transfer all information related to Sift, including, without limitation, your personal information and usage information: (i) to a subsequent owner, co-owner or operator of Sift or applicable database; or (ii) in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, restructuring, the sale of substantially all of our stock and/or assets or other corporate change, including, without limitation, during the course of any due diligence process.
With Your Consent
We may share your information for other purposes pursuant to your consent or at your direction. For example, we may publish testimonials or featured customer stories to promote Sift, with your permission.    

  1. How to Manage, Delete, and Retain Your Information

Managing, Reviewing, and Updating Your Information
When you are signed into your account of Sift, you can always review and update information by visiting your account profile.
Deleting Your Information
If desired, you can delete your entire Sift account by contacting us at support@getsift.ai. Please note that deletions are reflected promptly in our customer database, in some cases, we retain data for limited periods when it needs to be kept for legitimate business or legal purposes. See “Retaining Your Information” below for more information.
Retaining Your Information
We retain the data we collect for different periods of time depending on what it is, how we use it, and how you configure your settings:

  • Some data you can delete whenever you like, such as your contact and profile information.  We’ll keep this data in your Sift Account until you remove it or choose to have it removed.

  • We keep some data until you delete your Sift Account, such as information about how often you use our services.

  • And some data we retain for longer periods of time when necessary for legitimate business or legal purposes, such as security, fraud and abuse prevention, or financial record-keeping.

When you delete data, we follow a deletion process to make sure that your data is safely and completely removed from our servers or retained only in anonymized form. We try to ensure that our services protect information from accidental or malicious deletion. As with any deletion process, things like routine maintenance, unexpected outages, bugs, or failures in our protocols may cause delays in the processes and timeframes of deletion.

  1. How We Transfer Your Information

Your information is processed at our operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. It means that this information may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.
Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your personal information will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your personal information.

  1. Data Security

Personal information collected via Sift is stored in secure operating environments that are not available to the public. In some instances, personal information is encrypted during storage and transmission. Only those of our employees and agents who need access to your personal information to do their jobs are allowed access, each having signed confidentiality agreements.
While we make reasonable efforts to safeguard your personal information once we receive it, no transmission of data over the Internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or information we transmit to you from Sift, and you assume all related risks.

  1. Links to Other Websites and Services

We are not responsible for the practices employed by websites or services linked to or from Sift, including the information or content contained therein (e.g., Stripe, or any third-party websites or services). Please remember that this Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for, and we do not exercise control over, any third parties that you authorize to access your information. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information we collect by other means (including offline) or from other sources other than through Sift.

  1. Children Under 16

If you are under the age of 16, please do not use or provide any personal information to Sift. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16 and do not target Sift to children under 16. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 16 has provided their personal information to us, please contact us by sending an email at support@getsift.ai and we will delete that information.

  1. Privacy Policy Updates

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
We will let you know via email, popping up a window that requires acceptable of new Privacy Policy, or providing any other notice required by applicable law. We will also update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
